Last month, Swiss watchmaker TAG Hauer replica surprised many in following the growing trend of green watches for the year, unveiling the now sold-out Monaco Green Dial LE. Today, the brand returns with its next limited-edition green dial design, applying the colorway to another famed collection, and introducing the new green dial fake TAG Heuer Carrera Green Limited Edition.
The new cheap TAG Heuer fake watch comes as the latest addition to the extensive neo-vintage vein of Carrera releases seen from the brand in recent years – for example the Carrera ‘Dato’ LE unveiled at the start of this year – and, as its name indicates, is a limited edition green dial version of the classic Carrera design. The look builds upon the growing movement towards green dials displayed across the industry, following up on other notable green chronographs not only including the Monaco LE, but also a verdant Hamilton Intramatic and Breitling Superocean Heritage among many others. At its core, the watch is a classically sized, familiar design, reworked into a novel, summer-ready style.
As is likely apparent, it’s the green-blue dial which is the new model’s primary draw. TAG Heuer, in sensing that green is experimental enough, seems to have kept the novelty relatively simple outside of its color, eschewing any additional date windows or superfluous dial accents, and letting the unique, deep green-blue look of the piece shine within the traditional style. In this way, the watch is essentially a green-dial encore to the 160th anniversary Carrera released last year, the only obvious difference between the two being today’s green, and 2020’s silver.
As for more of the details on the dial, the sunray look is accented throughout with faux patina, metal, and white accents, and when taken as a whole presents a vintage-inspired style drawing direct queues from the original from 1963. Along the outer edge, an angled chapter ring provides the outline, while applied and lume-dotted markers make up each of the hour positions. Towards the center, a vintage-style Heuer logo is found on one quarter, with a 30-minute counter, running seconds, and 12-hour counter found below it at the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock spots, each slightly indented and featuring engine-turned accents. Like the vintage edition, the Green LE also features a pair of partially lume-filled sword hands to count the hours and minutes, the two accompanied by a simpler pointer for the chronograph seconds.
The steel case of the model is as conservative as the dial, albeit without any green accents. Sized at a solid 39-mm, the case follows in the vein of its vintage predecessor at only 3-mm larger, the size increase being an appeal by the brand to a more modernly inclined audience. Yet outside of size, the silhouette is much the same as the vintage edition, complete with pump pushers, sharp lugs, and a thinner bezel, and what appears to be primarily polished finishing throughout with accents of brushing.
Inside the 100-m water resistant case is the TAG Heuer Calibre Heuer 02 Automatic manufacture movement, produced in-house. Notably, the choice of this movement has required the TAG Heuer Carrera copy with black leather strap to adjust the sub-dials on the watch’s dial from the historical accurate positioning to what we see here, but that’s likely to be a deal breaker for many prospective buyers. As for specs, the caliber features an 80-hour power reserve, a column wheel and vertical clutch, and a beat rate of 28,800 vph, overall serving as a hardy, robust movement well-equipped on the sports focused modern Carrera. The movement is visible with its partially skeletonized rotor via a sapphire exhibition case back, the protective element engraved with “SPECIAL EDITION” marking the green-blue novelty.
